The first year of serving as a Treasurer will set the stage and directly influence opportunities for engagement\, impact\, visibility\, quality of experience\, and advancement. Nonprofit organizations need to recognize that the first year of Treasurer service will go by quickly and to ensure success for both the organization and the Treasurer\, special emphasis must be placed on optimizing the front-end Treasurer experience and connections to senior management\, staff\, and the Board. \nTreasurers often step into their roles with few expectations and no established goals to guide them.
