SUMMARY:Elevating Your Leadership: A Call to Learn from Your Team's Wisdom (Part 2 of 2)
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \nWant to elevate your leadership skills in 2024? Before you start\, forget the conventional wisdom of learning only from those who lead—sometimes\, the most valuable insights come from those who are led.  \nJoin us for a dynamic two-part webinar series where we will explore original research of leaders who shifted the culture of their organization\, by elevating the leadership wisdom found in the often-unheard voices of those they were leading.  \nPart 1: Unveiling the Unsung Wisdom \nIn our first session\, we’ll explore why those being led are an often-overlooked source of invaluable leadership wisdom. Discover practical\, low-maintenance methods for leaders to glean meaningful insights without resorting to burdensome practices (large 360 reviews\, burdensome surveys\, etc.). We’ll uncover the untapped potential of learning from your team and preview key lessons for a more impactful leadership journey. \nPart 2: Lessons in a Case Study of Learning \nDive into leadership practices through original research focused on one organization that harnessed the wisdom of those they lead to elevate their culture and practice. This session serves as both a guide and a case study\, offering tangible takeaways and illustrating the profound wisdom leaders can extract from those they lead every day. \nBy the end of this series\, you’ll not only possess the tools to integrate lessons from your team but also gain an understanding of the transformative impact such an approach can have in your specific leadership context. Don’t just lead—lead with wisdom from all corners. \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\nExplore eight characteristics of effective leadership distilled from an example with education professionals. \nIdentify the transferable elements within this wisdom\, that can enhance leadership effectiveness across diverse contexts. \nDraw inspiration from the examples\, showcasing how leaders can glean invaluable lessons from those they lead.\nCraft a personalized strategy to initiate and sustain a process of learning from your team.\n\nTo Watch this Webinar on the Media Library CLICK HERE!

SUMMARY:B165: Leadership & Learning: Leadership and the Weight We Carry: Navigating the Murky Waters of Leading and Being Human
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \nEver found yourself being asked to leave your life behind as you step into your leadership role? Or perhaps you’ve experienced the burden of working for a leader whose personal anxieties cast a shadow on the entire team. Maybe it’s a bit of both? \nThe truth is\, regardless of our title or the number of people we lead\, we all carry our own ‘stuff.’ It could be as enduring as anxiety and depression or as fleeting as the discomfort of a bad night’s sleep. The common advice often falls into two extremes: 1) ignore it and leave it at the door\, or 2) fully embrace it\, even if it means dragging others along in the name of authenticity. \nIn this conversation\, I’ll share insights from my personal journeys of leadership and anxiety\, self-sabotage\, and persistent negative self-talk. Over the past year\, I’ve collaborated with counselors\, coaches\, and friends to navigate these murky waters and discovered the power of trust and curiosity as essential tools to lead authentically. Join us as we explore the middle ground—where leadership meets life—and discover how cultivating trust and curiosity can guide us through the “stuff.” \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\n– Investigate the limitations of the common advice to “leave it at the door” for effective leadership.\n– Examine the impact of authenticity when it goes too far\, casting a shadow on the entire team.\n– Discover the potential of trust and curiosity as the cornerstone of healthy\, authentic leadership. \n– Discuss with others about the interplay of personal challenges and leadership in diverse contexts.\n\nTo Watch this Webinar on the Media Library CLICK HERE!

SUMMARY:B164: Leadership & Learning: The Best Leaders Ask the Best Questions: Because Who Needs All the Answers Anyway?

We’re in a world where people want more from their leaders than ever\, yet loyalty and satisfaction are on a bit of a hiatus. To navigate the choppy waters\, one skill stands out: the ancient art of asking questions. \n  \nUsing insights from research across industries and over a decade’s experience in education leadership\, we will explore why asking questions is a leadership superpower and the keys to using powerful questions to make better choices\, find and keep the right team members\, and grow into even better leaders in the future. \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\n– Develop an understanding of the significance of asking questions as a potent leadership tool to impact decision-making\, team cohesion\, and problem-solving positively.\n– Engage in brainstorming sessions to cultivate a repertoire of powerful questions\, fostering open communication and reflective thinking for both you and your team.\n– Put theory into practice by learning actionable strategies for incorporating effective questioning techniques directly into your leadership approach.\n– Curate a personalized list of 3-5 impactful questions\, ready for immediate implementation to drive progress towards your leadership objectives.\n\nTo Watch this Webinar on the Media Library CLICK HERE!
