Gene Terry, CAE, IOM, serves as executive director for the American Society of Hand Therapists, a client partner of Association Headquarters (AH). In this role, he oversees management functions of the society, including governance, membership, programming, finance, and operations. ASHT is a membership association of 4,000 occupational and physical therapists specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.
Gene also serves as AH’s Allied Health, Medical and Scientific Segment Leader. In this role, he oversees client service delivery, facilitates association growth initiatives, and provides coaching and development for staff.
Gene’s 25-year career combines three national voluntary-health organizations (American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, March of Dimes), an academic hospital system, and a healthcare public relations agency.
Gene is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), has held ASAE’s Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential since 2014, and is a past president of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives. He is also an active volunteer with the Association Management Company Institute. Gene earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Rowan University.
