Mac Lillard
Mac Lillard leads the firm’s practices for Fraud, Forensics, and Valuation services. In addition, he performs a wide range of services related to Internal Audit and Risk Management, providing technical expertise to help clients build and maintain risk management processes, optimize systems through digital transformation projects, enhance controls for fraud prevention/detection, and improve their cybersecurity posture. He travels domestically and internationally to provide services to global organizations.
As a Senior Manager, he leads planning, fieldwork, reporting, and ongoing communications for his engagements. He maintains numerous professional certifications that allow him to provide added value and a holistic experience on every client engagement. He prides himself on being a trusted advisor to all of his clients, making himself available year-round to answer questions, provide support, and advise on top risks and mitigation strategies Mr. Lillard has a broad range of experience, having served as a SOX monitor for a publicly traded company, internal auditor of campaign financing and reporting for a labor union’s election process, forensic investigator and litigation consultant for numerous cases and subject matter expert under co-sourced/outsourced internal audit arrangement.
Mr. Lillard was recognized for his leadership in the profession by CPA Practice Advisor in their 2025 “40 Under 40” award. He is also a recipient of the 2023 AICPA Technology Advisory Standing Ovation Award, which honors excellence in the accounting profession. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and professional seminars held by the Institute of Internal Auditors, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Risk and Insurance Management Society, amongst others. He serves on the board and is the former VP of Programs for the Washington, DC Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He uses this wide range of knowledge to provide tailored solutions to his clients that help to incorporate next generation technologies and industry best practices into operations.
Mac also volunteers his time, serving on the Board and supporting committees for nonprofit organizations to assist them in aligning their strategic directives with risk mitigation activities throughout the year.
