David M. Coyne, CFRE, is the President of The Sheridan Group, a full-service fundraising consulting firm based in Silver Spring, MD, founded in 1983. He has more than 30 years of experience in providing fundraising strategy and guidance to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations and causes, focusing primarily on national and international association foundations over the past 15 years.
In service to the profession, Dave serves as chair of the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Foundation for Philanthropy Fundraising Board and is a past chair of the Association of Philanthropic Counsel and a past member of the ASAE Research Foundation’s Development Committee. In addition, he is a past president of the Franklin and Marshall College Alumni Association and a past Trustee of the College, a past president of the Association Foundation Group and a past board member of the AFP Greater Washington, DC Chapter.
