Peggy McElgunn

Peggy McElgunn has over twenty five years of experience working with nonprofit trade associations and professional societies. Ms. McElgunn has worked with over fifty national and international trade associations and professional societies. While her role has been primarily as the Executive Director or CEO of 25 national or international associations, she has held positions at all levels and managing all aspects of nonprofit work. Ms. McElgunn has worked with organizations with both small and large budgets. Regardless of the budget, Ms. McElgunn has been able to reduce expenses and expanding income through both nondues revenue activities while never sacrificing the highest quality customer service ensuring the highest dues revenue generation. In addition, Ms. McElgunn has successfully turned around organizations plagued with budget deficits and financial restrictions.

Ms. McElgunn’s success has been due not only to her creativity but also to successful support and recognition of the volunteers with whom she has worked. Her research and understanding of volunteer leaders’ specific expertises and interests has resulted in expanded support and membership growth.

Ms. McElgunn's legal background includes working for a law firm where she lobbied on behalf of over 180 clients and developed position papers for them on Congressional and Federal Agency issues. Ms. McElgunn created a congressional caucus; monitored legislative and regulatory developments at the local, state, and national level; and managed the legal and government affairs for over twenty two trade associations and professional societies.
