Till System Death Do Us Part: Lasting Partnerships

November 10 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EST

Course Description:

System churn drains budgets, burns out staff, and frustrates members. This session shows how to cultivate vendor partnerships that last, from pinpointing the real problem and requirements, to choosing a true partner, to sustaining the relationship long after launch. Participants will explore why implementations go off the rails, how to establish governance and routines that keep both sides aligned, and what to do if the partnership falters. Through real scenarios and clear checklists, participants will leave with a practical roadmap to avoid “shiny object” distractions and maximize the value of their systems.

Learning Objectives:

Diagnose the root causes of system churn in their own organization and vendor relationships.

Design a simple governance and communication framework to align internal stakeholders and vendor partners before, during, and after implementation.

Apply tools (scorecards, health checks, and structured conversations) to repair strained vendor relationships and extend the life of existing systems.
