Microsoft VS Google Workspace: Choosing the Right Platform

February 6, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

Course Description:

Every nonprofit organization must have IT tools and a platform, so it’s great that Google offers its Workspace suite at a discount to nonprofit organizations. Many new nonprofits use these tools to start up their organization. For small, young, and growing nonprofit organizations, and nonprofits in the education field, this inexpensive suite of essential IT tools is becoming a popular standard.

Of course, there’s a competing service provider also offering a suite of cloud-based basic business productivity tools, also at greatly reduced prices to qualified nonprofit organizations: Microsoft.

We are often asked to give our opinion over which platform our clients should use. The answer is not as simple as you might think. Learn the differences, how to choose, and when to contemplate changing platforms in this webinar with Community IT Innovators CEO Johan Hammerstrom. Johan has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit IT and has worked with hundreds of nonprofit clients as they make crucial decisions about IT platforms. Learn how to think about your IT management as a nonprofit leader.

Learning Objectives:

Identify factors to consider when slecting a nonprofit IT platform such as Microsoft or Google Workspace

Compare the features and philosophy of each platform

Evaluate the advantages and drawbacks of each platform

Determine whether and when it may be appropriate to switch between platforms

Explain why IT is such an essential management task for nonprofit leaders
