Strategic Planning and Project-Based Budgeting for Associations

Course Description:
How can your association connect its strategic plan to the work it funds and the results it measures? This webinar examines a strategic planning approach for trade associations and professional societies that begins with member needs and organizational purpose and carries through to implementation. Explore how board and staff leaders can establish priorities, evaluate existing programs, and decide which activities to continue, change, or discontinue. Project-based budgeting links those decisions to work plans by identifying each initiative’s resource needs, assigning responsibility, and establishing measures of accomplishment.
The session will cover how to account for staff capacity and assess program value, including which activities contribute to the mission enough to warrant financial support. Executives, staff leaders, and board members will gain an approach to align spending with strategic priorities, monitor progress, and redirect resources as member needs and organizational conditions change.
