COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Why are system requirements so important? They are the roadmap to selecting, developing, and configuring a system. They help define what the users’ needs are, how a system should function, and ensure there is a clear understanding and expectation about the scope of a system. We’ll cover the reasons for identifying and documenting requirements, what makes up a good requirement, and how requirements should be used when selecting a system.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

– Explain the importance of system requirements in the process of selecting a system.
– Demonstrate how to gather, document, and prioritize effective system requirements
– Determine the appropriate timing for sharing requirements with potential vendors during system selection.
– Evaluate vendor responses based on how well they meet documented requirements.
