COURSE DESCRIPTION:

After the events of the last two years many association boards are cultivating more understanding and capacity to improve what we do best as associations—creating belonging through diversity, equity, and inclusion. This journey requires undoing the unconscious and default approaches currently used. Explore the DEI journey of a small-staff association in their first two years of implementing a holistic and courageous transformation. Facilitated dialogue and inquiry with the deputy executive director and their DEI consultant who is a DELP scholar, explore board decisions, public commitment, member push back, and lessons learned when holistically implementing DEI across an association.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Explore the DEI journey of a small-staff association in their first two years of implementing a holistic and courageous transformation.
  • Learn how to undo the unconscious and default approaches currently used when creating belonging through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
